The holidays have officially arrived at Walt Disney World Resort, and the resort is glowing with festive dรฉcor designed by the incredible Holiday Services team. This year, theyโve created more than 40,000 unique pieces of holiday dรฉcor across 780+ locationsโfrom hand-painted treasures to themed garlands and towering trees.
Among the many magical touches this year, the Disney Springs Christmas Tree Stroll stands out. And two cast members brought something extra special to the celebration: their cultural heritage and a whole lot of heart.

Moana Tree Brings Hawaiian Warmth to the Holidays
Kaawaloa, a cast member of eight years, infused the Moana-themed tree with authentic Native Hawaiian elements. She drew from her own family traditions and childhood memories to craft pieces that reflect the spirit of Motunui.
โIt feels like home,โ Kaawaloa said. โMaking ornaments with my family growing up is something I now get to continue through my work.โ
She carefully chose flowers, shells, and materials that mirror the oceanโs motion. Her favorite transformation? Taking a basic boat from the warehouse and recreating one of Moanaโs canoes using traditional Hawaiian lei-making techniques.

Coco Tree Celebrates Mexican Traditions and Colorful Joy
Gerardo โJerryโ, whoโs been part of the team for six years, shared his Mexican heritage and love of art through the vibrant Coco-themed tree. His design brings together the warmth of family and the spirit of Dรญa de los Muertos.
โDecorating the Coco tree brought me back to childhood,โ Jerry shared. โI grew up around art and color in my grandmotherโs flower shop. Now I get to bring that to life at Disney.โ
Jerry transformed the tree into a glowing ofrenda, decorated with hand-painted alebrijes, calaveras, framed portraits of the Rivera family, and festive offerings like fruit, shoes, and candles.
