Welcome to Arendelle: Frozen-Themed Land Makes Global Debut
The long-awaited World of Frozen officially opened its gates at Hong Kong Disneyland on November 20. However, the magic began early with “A Spectacular Celebration of World of Frozen,” held just days before. Fans and invited guests from around the world gathered on November 16 to be among the first to step into the kingdom of Arendelle.
The celebration unfolded in the heart of Arendelle, where Kristoff and Oaken kicked off the event alongside the Hong Kong Disneyland Ambassadors. Adding to the excitement were appearances from several of Disney’s top leaders, including:
- Bob Iger, CEO of The Walt Disney Company
- Josh D’Amaro, Chairman, Disney Experiences
- Jill Estorino, President & Managing Director of Disney Parks International
- Michael Moriarty, Managing Director of Hong Kong Disneyland Resort
- Alan Bergman, Co-Chairman, Disney Entertainment
- Jennifer Lee, Chief Creative Officer of Walt Disney Animation Studios and Oscar®-winning director of Frozen and Frozen 2
A Landmark Moment in Disney Storytelling
During the celebration, Bob Iger reflected on the monumental success of the Frozen franchise. He called it “one of the most successful in Disney history,” and praised its timeless storytelling.
Josh D’Amaro expressed his excitement for the new land. He said, “This land is now part of the legacy stretching back to Walt’s original dream for Disneyland. World of Frozen transports you to another world, where you can have fun with your loved ones and make some incredible memories together.”
A New Era for Hong Kong Disneyland
World of Frozen is the first Frozen-themed land at any Disney park worldwide. Guests can explore Arendelle’s snow-capped mountains, dine at the Golden Crocus Inn, meet characters like Anna and Elsa, and enjoy new attractions such as Frozen Ever After and Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs.
Thanks to rich storytelling, intricate design, and groundbreaking technology, World of Frozen creates an immersive environment that brings the world of Frozen to life like never before.
