Disney Experiences believes that everything we do to create magic can also create meaningful change. From books and food to toys and time, giving is part of our daily mission. Thanks to Disney cast members, VoluntEARS, and incredible community partners, we’re able to share kindness across the globe. Whether it’s fulfilling wishes or supporting children’s hospitals, generosity is always in season.
Making Wishes Come True
Since 1980, Disney has granted over 150,000 wishes with Make-A-Wish, becoming the organization’s largest wish granter. From unforgettable celebrations at Disneyland and Walt Disney World to unique events like “Once Upon a Wish” and Frozen-themed moments in Hong Kong, Disney helps bring smiles to children facing critical illnesses.
We also support hospitals and care centers with character visits, themed activities, and play spaces. For example:
- Disneyland Resort has supported CHOC since Walt Disney served on the board.
- In China, Disney Fun Houses and mobile theaters bring Disney joy to young patients.
- Disneyland Paris wraps gifts and visits over 60 hospitals during the holidays.
From Kitchens to Communities
Across all parks and resorts, Disney provides unserved meals to local food banks. On Thanksgiving, the tradition of giving continues with meals for those in need.
Disney Cruise Line extends this spirit to the sea. In The Bahamas, Disney has partnered with the Agricultural Development Organization to build school gardens in Abaco and Eleuthera. Students learn how to grow fruits and vegetables, gaining hands-on agricultural experience for a healthier future.
We also support culinary education by working with schools and organizations to train the next generation of chefs.
Disney VoluntEARS in Action
Our cast members make up the heart of Disney’s community outreach. As Disney VoluntEARS, they dedicate their time and talents to causes big and small.
- Disney Publishing has donated over 90 million books to First Book.
- shopDisney and Disney Stores donate thousands of items each year to Good360.
- At Disneyland, Mickey’s Attic redistributes surplus goods to nonprofits, keeping over 1.3 million pounds out of landfills in 2023 alone.
Every holiday season, the Disney Ultimate Toy Drive supports Toys for Tots. This partnership began in 1947 with Walt Disney himself designing the original logo. Since then, over 652 million toys have been distributed to more than 291 million children.
Giving Is Who We Are
At Disney, giving back isn’t just an initiative—it’s a part of our identity. Through wish-granting, hospital support, community donations, education programs, and workforce development, we strive to inspire hope and joy. With every act of kindness, we continue Walt’s legacy: to make the world a better, more magical place.
