Who is La Befana?
In Italian folklore, La Befana is a gentle old woman who travels the world on January 5, the night before the Feast of the Epiphany. According to legend, she was invited by the Three Wise Men to visit the newborn baby Jesus but declined. Later, she regretted her decision and set out on her own journey, leaving gifts for children along the way in hopes of finding him.
