Itโs the 12 Days of Christmas, and thereโs no better time to celebrate giving! This year, the Disney Ultimate Toy Drive has officially broken an all-time record with more than 270,000 toys collected for children in needโand counting!
Since the drive kicked off last month, guests, cast members, and communities have come together with incredible generosity. On Giving Tuesday, Disney announced a grant to Toys for Tots to provide an additional 75,000 toys, matching the spirit of giving seen across the country.
The magic continues! Thereโs still time to participate by donating a toy online at shopDisney.com/ToyDrive through Christmas Eve.
A Century of Giving
Disney has supported Toys for Tots since 1947, when Walt Disney and his team created the logo still used today. Since then, Toys for Tots has distributed 652 million toys to over 291 million children.
For 100 years, giving has remained central to Disneyโs mission. From food donations and toy collections to thousands of hours volunteered, Disney continues its legacy of making the world a brighter placeโespecially during the holidays.
Cast Members Making Magic
Disney cast members take great pride in the Toy Drive. Collection boxes fill cast areas at parks and resorts, and many teams take part in Disney VoluntEARS opportunities to help sort and distribute the toys.
One standout is Walt Disney World cast member Jen McKechnie, who marked Disneyโs centennial by volunteering with 100 nonprofit organizations in a single year. For her 100th, she chose Toys for Tots, helping distribute toys to kids in Florida.
At Disneyland Resort, the Costuming Department transformed repurposed fabric into handmade teddy bears and outfits. What started as a small effort in 2021 has grown to over 50 participants creating over 60 handmade bears this year. The Walt Disney World Costuming team also joined in, introducing a new crochet technique to add extra care and charm.
Global Holiday Cheer
Disneyโs global resorts also joined the giving spirit:
- Hong Kong Disneyland Resort is donating 60,000 toys.
- Disneyland Paris VoluntEARS and their families wrapped over 3,000 Disney toys to distribute to 60+ French hospitals.
- Throughout December and on Christmas Day, Disney VoluntEARS and characters will visit hospitals, bringing toys and joy to children.
From everyone at Disney, thank you for helping make this yearโs Toy Drive a magical success. Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas!
