A Cultural Celebration Returns to Disneyland Resort
Lunar New Year 2024 returns to Disney California Adventure Park from January 23 through February 18, honoring Chinese, Vietnamese, and Korean traditions in vibrant fashion. With the Year of the Dragon in full swing, this multicultural celebration features food marketplaces, new characters, vibrant décor, and family-friendly entertainment.

New Characters Join the Festivities
Making their Disneyland Resort debut, Meilin Lee and her mom Ming from Pixar’s Turning Red join the Lunar New Year festivities. Guests can spot them near the pathway between Grizzly Peak and Paradise Gardens Park, where Meilin is on the verge of transforming into her Red Panda form.
Mushu leads the beloved “Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession,” a lively parade celebrating family, friendship, and good fortune. The route extends from Hollywood Land to Paradise Gardens Park.

Tastes of Tradition with a Disney Twist
Six Lunar New Year marketplaces offer Asian cuisine with a creative Disney twist. Highlights include the pork banh mi sandwich, kung pao bao, shrimp lo mein, and strawberry milk tea macaron. New this year are novelties like a Mickey-shaped macaron straw clip and a stainless steel Lunar New Year tumbler.
Guests can also purchase a Sip and Savor Pass, redeemable for select food and nonalcoholic beverages across marketplaces and dining locations.
Downtown Disney and the Disneyland Resort Hotels join the celebration with limited-time treats like Five Spice donuts and themed cocktails like the Moon Dragon, available at select locations.

Nighttime Spectacle and Live Performances
Before each showing of “World of Color – ONE,” Paradise Bay lights up with “Hurry Home – A Lunar New Year Celebration,” a heartfelt story told through water, light, and music by Oscar-winning composer Tan Dun.
Live performances at Paradise Garden Bandstand and Sonoma Terrace include new acts like Korean recording artist Luna Lee and the Vietnamese trio New Tradition, along with returning favorites like Vocal Seoul.

At Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, a massive 80-foot dragon kite, held by three children representing Asian cultures, soars across the lobby. Guests can also book a Tai Chi fitness class through the Tenaya Stone Spa.
