Reservation-Free Days have been revealed on the My Disney Experience App, and Disney Parks Reservation system website. You, like me, are asking – “What does it mean to me?”
For local Walt Disney World annual pass holders, the routine of securing park reservations through the reservation system is familiar. However, with the introduction of Good-to-Go days, a new dynamic is added to the mix. If a date is “circled,” it’s good to go – no reservation is needed for that day, offering the freedom to visit any park at any time. The catch? Virtual queues for attractions like Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at Epcot or Tron Light Cycle Run at Magic Kingdom will require a reservation to join the Virtual Queue at 7:00 am.
If you are planning to join the virtual queue at 1:00 pm, like previously, you need to be inside the park. So there is still an option to join the virtual queue.
For those who aren’t annual pass holders planning a vacation more than 6 weeks ahead, Good-to-Go days bring no change – a park reservation is still a necessity. However, there are exceptions, such as certain cases where a length of stay pass doesn’t mandate a reservation.
Disney has stated they will be adding good-to-go days throughout the year, the first wave of days released on January 11, 2024, included 6 dates over the next 4 weeks. If this is a standard we can expect Dinsey to add days every few weeks. That will help locals who are more likely to make a last-minute decision to visit a Disney park. For those planning a future trip, good-to-go days don’t change the process and may add confusion. Let’s hope this is a step back to pre-pandemic vacation planning.
