This summer, Walt Disney World Resort will become the home of every AAU Boys’ Basketball World Championship. For the first time, all 24 national title events for boys from 7U to 19U will take place exclusively at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. The tournaments run from July 4 to 11, 2024, and bring together elite talent, fans, coaches, and scouts in one destination.
These events were previously hosted at multiple venues across the country. The move to host them all at Disney reflects a growing partnership between AAU and Walt Disney World.
Memorial Day Classic Kicks Things Off
Before the national titles are decided in July, ESPN Wide World of Sports will host another major tournament. The AAU Boys’ and Girls’ Basketball Memorial Day Classic returns May 25–27, 2024. This event continues a long tradition of high-level youth basketball being played on Disney’s courts.
A Premier Venue Since 1997
Since it opened in 1997, ESPN Wide World of Sports has served as a top-tier venue for AAU events. Over the years, thousands of young athletes have competed there. Some of them have gone on to become collegiate and professional basketball stars.
College recruiters regularly attend these events. The competition offers a chance to scout top talent in a centralized and well-supported environment.
