Disney proudly partnered with the National Football League (NFL) this past weekend to welcome families of fallen military heroes to Magic Kingdom. As part of a special experience organized by the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS), these families traveled from across the country for an unforgettable trip that included a day at Walt Disney World and the NFL Pro Bowl at Camping World Stadium on Feb. 4.
A Weekend of Football and Magic
TAPS is a nonprofit organization that provides support services to the loved ones of fallen service members, also known as Gold Star families. Welcoming these incredible families back to Walt Disney World was a humbling and meaningful experience. Disney is deeply committed to honoring military service, and partnering with the NFL to provide a special welcome to the Most Magical Place on Earth was an incredible way to express our gratitude.
A Warm Disney Welcome
During their visit to Magic Kingdom, families were greeted by Mickey Mouse, Walt Disney World Ambassadors, and members of the Disney SALUTE veteran employee resource group. This special gathering provided an opportunity for Disney cast members, many of whom are veterans themselves, to offer support and appreciation to these families who have sacrificed so much.
Listening to these families share personal stories and cherished memories of their loved ones was incredibly moving. While grief is deeply personal, the day was filled with joy, laughter, and moments of healing. Families created new, unforgettable memories together.
