With the grand reopening of the Disneyland Hotel at Disneyland Paris, guests are greeted not only with a reimagined royal experience but also with brand-new Disneyland Paris Hotel costumes. These elegant and sophisticated outfits bring the hotel’s regal theme to life through stunning detail, exclusive French craftsmanship, and timeless Disney inspiration.
Designed under the guidance of Walt Disney Imagineering and the talented Disneyland Paris cast costume teams, this new wardrobe includes 27,777 custom pieces. Each design draws from the style of beloved Disney Princes and Princesses, capturing the charm of fairy tales while incorporating modern comfort and function.
From Concept to Couture: Disney Design in Motion
Every great Disney story begins with inspiration, and so did the process behind these costumes. It all started with visual briefs from Walt Disney Imagineering. From there, detailed mood boards set the tone—drawing from medieval and Victorian fashion while staying true to Disney royalty.
Fashion Designer Karine Soares, who led the creative development, collaborated closely with Société Dutel, a Lyon-based jacquard fabric manufacturer. Their specialized knowledge in high-quality woven materials ensured that the costumes wouldn’t just look royal—they’d feel luxurious too.
“We are proud to know our fabrics, made in France, are part of Disneyland Hotel’s magical story,” said Jean-Christophe Dutel, Managing Director of Société Dutel.
Regal Comfort: Innovation Behind the Magic
For Karine, it was essential that each piece reflected the grace and elegance of Disney royalty while remaining chic and wearable for cast members. “We wanted a contemporary silhouette that still felt regal,” she shared. The final result balances beauty with function—lightweight materials, increased flexibility, and breathable fabrics allow cast members to move comfortably while remaining show-ready.
To ensure durability, each costume design underwent rigorous testing. The garments had to be both beautiful and long-lasting, ready to stand up to the daily magic of the resort.
The details are where this collection truly shines. From embroidered patterns to elegant textures, every choice supports the royal theme. Yet, one feature stands out most to Karine—the jewel button accents. “I’m especially proud of the Fleur de Lys jewel. It’s used on ascot ties and headwear. It gives just the right touch of elegance,” she said.

The costumes adorned in different jewel buttons is what Karine is most proud of. “I’m very proud of the Fleur de Lys jewel. We’ll be using it on the ascot ties and headwear. It’s that little ‘je ne sais quoi’ that gives the costume an elegant, regal finish!”
