A New Disney Cruise Ship Is Taking Shape
Today, we’re excited to reveal the first official details about the upcoming Disney Destiny cruise ship, the latest addition to the growing Disney Cruise Line fleet. From zero to hero—just like that!—this new ship sets sail on a journey filled with storytelling magic, starring Disney heroes and villains.
A First-of-Its-Kind Theme at Sea
The Disney Destiny, sister to the Disney Wish and Disney Treasure, will feature a never-before-seen theme: “Heroes and Villains.” Drawing from beloved Disney films and park attractions, this immersive theme celebrates both sides of the story—light and dark, good and evil.
Onboard, guests will meet characters from Walt Disney Animation classics like The Lion King, Hercules, and One Hundred and One Dalmatians. These stories will come to life in exciting spaces, entertainment, and design elements throughout the ship.


Minnie Mouse Leads the Way
Continuing a cherished tradition, Minnie Mouse will grace the bow of the Disney Destiny in brand-new filigree artwork. Donning a heroic cape and bold pose, she embodies the ship’s theme and invites guests on thrilling vacations across the sea.

A Major Milestone at Meyer Werft
The Disney Destiny reached a key construction milestone. The keel laying ceremony at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. This maritime tradition is said to bring good luck to the vessel as it takes shape. The ship is scheduled to launch in 2025. Joining the Disney Wish, Disney Treasure, and Disney Adventure in expanding the Disney Cruise Line experience.
