The Disney Parks Blog has been keeping us updated on the progress of Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, Disney Cruise Lineโ€™s newest tropical retreat on the island of Eleuthera, The Bahamas. As we count down to its June 2024 debut, fans can now get an inside look at the vibrant cabanas, delicious dining, and artistic experiences that will soon welcome guests.

1. Colorful Cabanas Inspired by Bahamian Art

Greeted by the mesmerizing Mabrika Cove Cabanas, guests arriving at Disney Lookout Cay will experience the magic of Bahamian color and pattern. Created by a local Bahamian artist, these cabanas line the shores with bright hues and intricate designs, offering a luxurious escape right by the pristine, turquoise waters.

As one of the first sights from the ship, the cabanas immediately immerse visitors in the colorful charm and architecture unique to the Bahamian islands.

2. True-True Too BBQ and Shell-Inspired Dining

Designed by Walt Disney Imagineering, the buildings at Disney Lookout Cay resemble oversized seashells scattered along the beach. True-True Too BBQ brings that design to life with a shell-shaped pavilion offering incredible ocean views and a delicious lunch menu.

The dining areas are adorned with artwork inspired by the islandโ€™s natural beauty, including coral, shells, fish, and flowersโ€”elements that reflect the artistic traditions of Eleutheraโ€™s local creators.

3. Cultural Touches at the Tram Stop

Even the tram stops at Disney Lookout Cay are infused with local flair. Soon, theyโ€™ll showcase vivid colors and Bahamian energy through offerings like hair braiding, shopping, and festive interactions. The stop is more than just transportationโ€”itโ€™s a joyful first glimpse into island life.

4. Honoring Junior Junkanoo

Disney Lookout Cay celebrates Bahamian culture through its embrace of Junkanoo. This traditional Bahamian celebration of dance, music, and art.  It is being preserved for future generations through Disneyโ€™s support of Junior Junkanoo on Eleuthera. Disney has increased its investment in the program, amplifying its positive impact on local youth.

5. Mickey and Minnieโ€™s Bahamian Looks

When guests visit this tropical paradise.  They will be greeted by Mickey and Minnie Mouse dressed in custom designs by Bahamian fashion designer Theodore Elyett. The looks reflect the sunshine, spirit, and color of the islands, complete with natural raffia accessories and Junkanoo flair.
