Earlier today Disney+ unveiled the first trailer for Lucasfilm’s latest original series, “Star Wars: The Acolyte.” This gripping live-action saga premieres Tuesday, June 4, exclusively on Disney+, with its first two episodes.
“Star Wars: The Acolyte,” immerses views in an investigation into a disturbing spree of crimes, setting a revered Jedi Master (played by Lee Jung-jae) against a perilous foe from his past (portrayed by Amandla Stenberg). With each new revelation, they embark on a journey into darkness, where malevolent forces unveil a reality far from what appears on the surface.
The ensemble cast features Amandla Stenberg, Lee Jung-jae, Manny Jacinto, Dafne Keen, Charlie Barnett, Jodie Turner-Smith, Rebecca Henderson, Dean-Charles Chapman, Joonas Suotamo, and Carrie-Anne Moss.
The series, conceived by Leslye Headland and based on George Lucas’s Star Wars universe, boasts an executive production team comprising Kathleen Kennedy, Simon Emanuel, Jeff F. King, and Jason Micallef. Charmaine DeGraté and Kor Adana serve as co-executive producers, while Rayne Roberts, Damian Anderson, Eileen Shim, and Rob Bredow take on producing duties.
Headland directs the premiere episodes (Episodes 101 & 102), with Kogonada tackling Episodes 103 & 107, Alex Garcia Lopez on Episodes 104 & 105, and Hanelle Culpepper on Episodes 106 & 108.
Michael Abels, renowned for his acclaimed scores for “Get Out” and “Us,” lends his musical talents to “Star Wars: The Acolyte.”
