Now, let’s get ready to move to the rhythm of Rara, a vibrant musical tradition from Haiti that’s become part of the cultural fabric of New Orleans. Known for its unique instruments and joyful procession-style sounds, Rara brings energy to every celebration.
Meet the Rara Musicians in Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
Octavia the Bobcat
Octavia is a fearless and adventurous bobcat kitten who plays the vaksin, a single-note horn central to Rara music. Whether she’s high in the treetops or jamming with friends, Octavia is always up for fun.
Pawpaw the Bobcat
Pawpaw is not only Octavia’s loving grandfather, but also her musical mentor. A wise soul with a gentle heart, Pawpaw believes in going with the flow and treasures every moment with his granddaughter.
Claude the Louisiana Black Bear
Claude is a creative and endearing bear who plays the horn. He’s a natural inventor, always tinkering with new ideas and gadgets he finds in the bayou. His charm comes from his unintentionally funny personality and “salt of the mound” wisdom.
Bernadette the Louisiana Black Bear
Bernadette is a calm and nurturing presence in the band. She enjoys floating in the bayou, playing her horn, and keeping a close eye on her cub, Sebastián. With a practical mind and a warm heart, she balances out Claude’s inventiveness.
Sebastián the Louisiana Black Bear
Sebastián may be the youngest, but he’s already making a name for himself with his drumming talent. Instead of following in his horn-playing parents’ footsteps, he forges his own path alongside his adventurous friend Octavia.
Phina the Gray Fox
Phina is the group’s visionary drummer. With boundless energy and a mind full of ideas, she’s always dreaming up new ways to celebrate and connect. Her creativity is infectious, and her friends love her for it.
Coming Soon to Walt Disney World and Disneyland
These lovable critters will appear as Audio-Animatronics throughout Tiana’s Bayou Adventure when it opens this summer at Walt Disney World Resort and later in 2025 at Disneyland Resort. You’ll even find them featured in the attraction poster for Walt Disney World, showing off their musical flair!
And don’t worry — more critters are still to come. The final group will be revealed soon, just in time for opening day. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Rara Musicians are just the begining.
