Star Wars: Tales of the Empire Launches May 4 on Disney+

Today, Disney+ debuted the official trailer for Star Wars: Tales of the Empire, the second installment in the animated Tales anthology series from Lucasfilm. Following the success of Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi in 2022, this new six-episode journey premieres exclusively on Disney+ on Star Wars Day, May 4.

A New Chapter in Star Wars Animation

Tales of the Empire explores the rise of the Galactic Empire through the eyes of two characters on separate journeys. Each story spans a different era and explores the personal stakes of life under Imperial rule:

• Morgan Elsbeth, a young woman who loses everything and chooses the path of vengeance as the Empire grows stronger.
• Barriss Offee, a former Jedi navigating a rapidly changing galaxy, doing whatever she must to survive.

Their paths may be divergent, but the choices they make will echo across the Star Wars galaxy.

Voice Cast and Creative Team

The voice cast for Star Wars: Tales of the Empire includes several familiar names and fan favorites:

• Diana Lee Inosanto as Morgan Elsbeth
• Meredith Salenger as Barriss Offee
• Rya Kihlstedt as Lyn (Fourth Sister)
• Wing T. Chao as Wing
• Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn
• Jason Isaacs as the Grand Inquisitor
• Matthew Wood as General Grievous

The series was created by Dave Filoni, who also serves as supervising director and executive producer. Additional executive producers include Athena Yvette Portillo and Carrie Beck, with Josh Rimes as co-executive producer and Alex Spotswood as senior producer.

New Poster and Trailer Now Available

Alongside the trailer, Disney+ also revealed stunning new poster art for the series, featuring both Morgan Elsbeth and Barriss Offee set against the menacing backdrop of the Empire.

All six episodes of Star Wars: Tales of the Empire will be available to stream on May 4, continuing the tradition of premiering major Star Wars content on this fan-favorite holiday.
