Honoring Legends and Looking Ahead – This Week at Walt Disney World
Celebrating The Sherman Brothers – “Walt’s Boys”
Join Sam and Greg for a heartfelt tribute to the iconic Sherman Brothers, the legendary songwriters behind so many Disney classics. This week’s live episode takes us on a journey through their impact, legacy, and timeless music, all inspired by the classic 1980s series Disney Family Album.
The duo composed countless Disney favorites, including It’s a Small World, The Tiki Tiki Tiki Room, and There’s a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow. In this special segment, we reflect on their profound connection to Walt Disney himself, earning them the nickname “Walt’s Boys.”
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Memorial Day Tribute
As Memorial Day 2024 arrived, Walt Disney World marked the occasion with a special tribute incorporated into the soon-to-open Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Guests visiting the area noticed floral arrangements and commemorative signage placed near the entrance, honoring service members in a touching and respectful way.
While the ride isn’t open yet, it’s clear Imagineers are already connecting it to Disney’s broader storytelling values—highlighting courage, community, and celebration.
Wilderness Lodge Marks 30 Years
Disney’s Wilderness Lodge officially turned 30 this week! The resort celebrated its anniversary with limited-time food offerings, commemorative merchandise, and a display highlighting its Pacific Northwest heritage. Guests were invited to reflect on the Lodge’s legacy and rustic charm—making it a perfect stop during the Memorial Day weekend.
