An exciting new youth soccer tournament is arriving this fall at Walt Disney World Resort. The inaugural ESPN Wide World of Sports Soccer Tournament, called the Disney Season Kickoff, will take place October 12-13, 2024. This new two-day event is open to boys and girls in U9-U19 divisions and officially launches the Disney Soccer season.
Tournament Format and Disney Magic
The tournament will follow a group play format where every team plays at least three games. Top teams from each division will advance to a championship match, with trophies and medals awarded to first and second place finishers. In true Disney fashion, the tournament also includes surprise character appearances and the chance to enjoy the theme parks with teammates and family members.
This event is the first of six premier youth soccer tournaments at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex for the 2024-2025 season.
Disney Junior Soccer Showcase Expands With 4v4 Format
Kicking off the holiday season, the Disney Junior Soccer Showcase returns November 29 to December 1 and now features an expanded 4v4 format for U7-U10 divisions. The 4v4 matches offer small-sided gameplay with fast-paced, high-energy action on smaller fields. The tournament continues to include 9v9 matchups for U11-U12 and 11v11 for U13-U14 teams.
The Junior Showcase creates more opportunities for elite young athletes to compete against top talent from across the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and more. Registration is now open for this and all 2024-2025 Disney Soccer events.
