Pixar’s Inside Out 2 is set to take audiences on another emotional roller coaster when it arrives exclusively in theaters on June 14. The sequel introduces a new chapter in Riley’s life, filled with new emotions that bring unexpected twists, growing pains, and plenty of teenage drama.
Who Are the New Emotions?
Riley’s original emotions—Joy, Sadness, Fear, Anger, and Disgust—are still at Headquarters, but this time, they have company! Meet Anxiety, Envy, Ennui, and Embarrassment, each bringing their own spin to Riley’s evolving mind.
Anxiety (Voiced by Maya Hawke)
Jittery and always on edge, Anxiety is Riley’s overprotective guardian, ensuring she’s ready for every possible disaster. Armed with color-coded charts and worst-case scenarios, Anxiety is constantly overthinking, trying to keep Riley safe from embarrassment and social faux pas. She’s the friend you never asked for but can’t escape!
Envy (Voiced by Ayo Edebiri)
Small but mighty, Envy is always wanting more—more attention, more admiration, and more of what everyone else has. She’s fixated on Riley’s insecurities, constantly comparing her life to those around her.
Ennui (Voiced by Adèle Exarchopoulos)
Effortlessly unimpressed, Ennui embodies teenage boredom. Whether it’s school, family outings, or even big achievements, nothing seems to excite her. She’s the ultimate apathetic cool kid, too bored to care but always watching.
Embarrassment (Voiced by Paul Walter Hauser)
Shy, self-conscious, and always ready to cringe, Embarrassment is Riley’s built-in awkwardness detector. He’s big, quiet, and always prepared to hide Riley from social disasters. If something even remotely embarrassing happens, he’s flopping onto the control panel in distress.
Inside Out 2: New Emotions A Whole New Emotional Journey
With Anxiety, Envy, Ennui, and Embarrassment joining the mix, Riley’s mind is more complicated than ever. As she navigates the challenges of growing up, these new emotions will stir up chaos and challenge the balance at Headquarters.
