Jolly Holiday: A D23 Musical Tribute to Richard M. Sherman | Full Tribute Video

The D23 Ultimate Fan Event 2024 delivered an unforgettable celebration of music and legacy.  “Jolly Holiday: A D23 Musical Celebration of Richard M. Sherman.” This heartfelt tribute honored the life and work of Disney Legend Richard M. Sherman, whose songs have defined generations of Disney magic.

The evening, hosted by Disney CEO Bob Iger, brought together fans, performers, and Disney creatives to reflect on Sherman’s lasting impact. The event featured touching stories, iconic music, and surprise guest appearances, reminding us why Richard M. Sherman remains one of the most beloved composers in family entertainment history.

A Star-Studded Salute

The tribute opened with Bob Iger sharing personal memories of Sherman and highlighting his final contribution to ” It’s a Small World.” This set the tone for an emotional evening filled with music and gratitude.

Disney Legend John Stamos joined Darren Criss to perform “I Wan’na Be Like You” from The Jungle Book, while Hayley Mills and Lesley Ann Warren reunited for a joyful duet of “Let’s Get Together” from The Parent Trap.

Legendary Guests and Performances

The event welcomed appearances by Disney Legends Floyd Norman and Tony Baxter.  Along with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige and Disney producer Don Hahn.  They all shared stories about working with Richard Sherman.

One of the most moving moments of the night came from Sherman’s granddaughter, Mandy Rose Wolf, who delivered a tender performance of “The Age of Not Believing” from Bedknobs and Broomsticks.

A Joyous Finale

The evening concluded with a heartwarming sing-along of “Let’s Go Fly a Kite” from Mary Poppins, with all the performers gathered on stage. It was a fitting tribute to a man whose music continues to uplift and inspire.

Richard M. Sherman, along with his brother Robert, created the soundtrack to our childhoods. From Mary Poppins to The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh and The Enchanted Tiki Room, their music lives on in Disney parks, films, and the hearts of fans around the world.
