D23 Brazil 2024 Delivers Blockbuster Disney Announcements in São Paulo

The first-ever D23 Brazil – A Disney Experience wrapped up an unforgettable three-day celebration at the Transamerica Expo Center in São Paulo. Held November 8–10, 2024, this historic event marked Disney’s largest fan gathering in Brazil, filled with major announcements, exclusive sneak peeks, and thrilling guest appearances from across the worlds of Disney.

Renato D’Angelo, General Manager of The Walt Disney Company Brazil, kicked off the festivities alongside beloved Brazilian character Zé Carioca. With packed panels, live performances, and a custom Disney Store developed with Mercado Livre, the weekend was full of magic.

Huge News from Walt Disney Studios

On opening day, Disney Live Action, Pixar, and Walt Disney Animation Studios revealed major updates. Highlights included:

  • Ice Age 6 is officially in production, bringing back the original cast for a new animated adventure.
  • Mufasa: The Lion King debuted a new trailer, with director Barry Jenkins sharing insights into the film’s emotional story. In theaters December 20.
  • Snow White star Rachel Zegler shared a video greeting as guests saw a new trailer for the live-action reimagining, arriving March 21, 2025.
  • Lilo & Stitch revealed new footage ahead of its May 23, 2025 release.

Pixar Brings Inside Out 2, Toy Story 5, and More

Pixar’s Jonas Rivera celebrated the record-breaking success of Inside Out 2 before unveiling new content, including:

  • Dream Productions – A limited series streaming December 11 on Disney+
  • Win or Lose – A series debuting February 19, 2025
  • Elio – A cosmic adventure coming June 13, 2025
  • Hoppers – A new original film opening in 2026
  • Toy Story 5 – Buzz and Woody return to face a tech-fueled threat (June 19, 2026)
  • Incredibles 3 – The beloved Parr family returns for another superhero adventure

Moana 2 and Zootopia 2 Take the Stage

Jared Bush shared sneak peeks from Moana 2, arriving in theaters November 27. Brazilian singer Any Gabrielly performed “Beyond,” the end-credits version of a new song from the film. Bush also revealed that Zootopia 2 will feature the return of Shakira as Gazelle, with a plot centering on Judy and Nick investigating a reptilian criminal in November 2025.

Marvel, Star Wars, and 20th Century Studios Surprise the Crowd

Saturday’s star-studded presentations included appearances from:

  • Rami Malek for The Amateur (April 11, 2025)
  • Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio for Daredevil: Born Again
  • David Harbour for Thunderbolts**
  • Anthony Mackie and Danny Ramirez for Captain America: Brave New World
  • Kevin Feige and James Cameron, who appeared live from New Zealand

Lucasfilm’s Jude Law introduced Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, which launches December 3. Fans also met droid B2EMO, who announced that Andor Season 2 premieres April 22, 2025.

Director Jon Favreau and producer Dave Filoni gave fans their first glimpse of The Mandalorian and Grogu, in theaters May 22, 2026.
