Disney’s Animal Kingdom has always been a treasure trove of cultural richness, immersive storytelling, and legend of the li that transports guests around the world without ever leaving the park. On September 29, 2024, a new act debuted in the Asia section of the park, continuing the tradition of showcasing authentic cultural performances: Beats and Strings.
Beats and Strings is a Hindustani Raga musical duo that has quickly captured the hearts of Animal Kingdom guests. Situated near the Feathered Friends in Flight! show and the Yak & Yeti Restaurant, this talented duo brings the soulful sounds of Indian classical music to life in 20-minute sets throughout the day. The performances feature the sitar and tabla, two traditional instruments that are central to the rich musical heritage of India.
During their sets, the musicians share insights into the history and cultural significance of the pieces they perform. This blend of entertainment and education fits perfectly with Animal Kingdom’s mission to immerse guests in global cultures and inspire a sense of wonder about the world.
Beats and Strings carries forward the legacy of live Indian music in the Asia section of Animal Kingdom, succeeding the beloved Chakranadi. The introduction of Beats and Strings ensures that the spirit of Indian classical music continues to thrive in the park.
Beats and Strings performs several times daily, and showtimes can be found in the My Disney Experience app.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom continues to stand out among theme parks for its dedication to blending real-world culture with Disney magic. Beats and Strings is the latest testament to that commitment, offering guests a chance to connect with the sounds and stories of India in an unforgettable way.
