As Disneyland Resort prepares for its 70th anniversary and beyond, parks and Downtown Disney are undergoing updates to enhance guest experiences. Here’s a breakdown of what you need to know before you go in early 2025
Disneyland Park
Disneyland Monorail: Closed starting January 6, 2025, for maintenance. Reopening date yet to be announced.
Haunted Mansion: Scheduled to close from January 7 to January 18, 2025, as the holiday overlay (Haunted Mansion Holiday) is removed and the classic version is restored.
Mark Twain Riverboat: Briefly closed from January 6 to January 10, 2025, for routine maintenance.
Disneyland Railroad: Closed starting January 13, 2025, for extensive refurbishment. It is expected to reopen in time for the 70th-anniversary celebrations in May.
“it’s a small world”: Closed on January 21, 2025, to transition from its holiday overlay back to the traditional version. Scheduled to reopen in Spring 2025.
Disney California Adventure
Grizzly River Run: Closed starting January 6, 2025, for seasonal maintenance. Reopening date has not been announced.
Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind: Scheduled to close from January 6 to January 23, 2025, for enhancements.
Red Car Trolley: Permanently closing on February 8, 2025, to make room for the upcoming expansion of Avengers Campus.
Downtown Disney
Downtown Disney is also undergoing a transformation with several closures and exciting new additions:
Catal Restaurant and Uva Bar: These venues have permanently closed to make way for Paseo and Centrico, two new dining destinations featuring unique flavors and experiences.
Tortilla Jo’s: After 20 years, this fan-favorite Mexican eatery has closed permanently. Its replacement will include two new restaurants: a steakhouse specializing in prime beef and seafood and a barbecue restaurant offering brisket and pulled pork.
Porto’s Bakery: The much-anticipated Porto’s Bakery will open in 2025, replacing the former Earl of Sandwich location. This addition is sure to delight guests with its renowned pastries and savory offerings.
