The Disney Free Dining promotion is back for 2025, and fans are buzzing with excitement. Booking opened this morning, and dates are selling out quickly. But is Free dining really free? Let’s dive into the details and see if Disney’s “Free Dining” offer lives up to the hype or if there are better ways to save.
What is Disney’s Free Dining Promotion?
This year, Disney’s Free Dining offer allows guests to receive a complimentary dining plan when booking a non-discounted vacation package for select dates. To qualify, guests must book a minimum 3-night stay at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel and purchase theme park tickets with the Park Hopper option. Eligible travel dates are May 27 – June 26, 2025, and July 7 – August 6, 2025. Packages are available NOW, while supplies last.
The dining plan offered depends on the resort category:
- Quick-Service Dining Plan for Value and Moderate Resorts – For families on the go all day, this is a fast and easy meal plan option—especially when you have little ones in tow. If your package includes the Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan, then everyone in the party ages 3 and up receives the following:
- 2 Quick-Service Meals Per Night of Stay
- 1 Snack or Nonalcoholic Beverage Per Night of Stay
- 1 Resort-Refillable Drink Mug

- Standard Dining Plan for Delux Resorts – Experience classic dining options at both Quick-Service and Table-Service restaurants—including Character dining locations! If your package includes the Disney Dining Plan, then everyone in the party ages 3 and up receives the following:

- 1 Table-Service Meal Per Night of Stay
- 1 Snack or Nonalcoholic Beverage Per Night of Stay

But the key question remains: Is it really free?
To help answer that, we compared Vacation Packages to find out, for our example we prices multiple vacation packages for a family of four (2 adults and 2 children) staying at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort (a Moderate Resort) for 6 nights, June 8 – 14, 2025. Disney always has more than one package offering, we ran the number on all of them, assuming a 7-Day Park hopper, which would be required for the Free Dining Promotion, but not necessarily required for the other packages. These numbers are based on booking information available on January 3, 2025, availability and prices will change:
- Room Only with 7-Day Park Hopper Tickets: $5,410
- “Package” with One Day Park Ticket: $5,552
- Stay Longer and Save More Package (with Park Hoppers): $4,618
- Savor a Delicious Deal (Free Dining Package included Park Hoppers): $4,819
- Save on Your Next Stay Package (with Park Hoppers): $4,528
Is Free Dining Really Free?
In our example, the Free Dining Package, “Savor a Delicious Deal this Summer,” costs $291 more than the “Save on Your Next Stay” room rate plus Park Hopper tickets. So, is free dining truly free? No, it isn’t. However, for an additional $291, you get
- 48 Quick-Service Meals
- 24 Snacks
- 4 Resort Refillable Mugs
It might not be free, but I’d pay $291 for those credits every time! Keep in mind, that this will vary based on your family. Is there enough food? Every family is different. Our advice is and will always be, DO THE MATH! Don’t trust the headline. Let us know what you think in the comments below.
