If you’ve never heard of Banana Ball, you’re about to. And if you’ve already caught a glimpse of the chaos, dancing, and backflipping players—get ready for even more. This summer, Disney+, and ESPN are teaming up to bring Savannah Bananas baseball to fans nationwide with a 10-game schedule that’s anything but traditional.
Baseball Meets Broadway
What exactly is Banana Ball? Think Harlem Globetrotters meets America’s pastime. The Savannah Bananas have flipped the baseball rulebook upside down and tossed it in the air. This isn’t about stats or standings but showmanship, speed, and pure fun. Every inning feels like a highlight reel, complete with trick plays, stunts, and choreographed dances.
Founded in 2016 and rising to national fame during the pandemic, the Savannah Bananas have built a loyal fanbase by fusing baseball fundamentals with non-stop entertainment. Games feature zany opponents like the Party Animals, Texas Tailgaters, and Firefighters, all playing under an adapted set of rules to keep things fast, funny, and family-friendly.
A Disney+ Debut for Banana Ball
Now, in a new move that blends sports and streaming, the Bananas are bringing their unique brand of baseball to Disney+, ESPN, and ESPN+ all summer long. The action starts Saturday, April 26, and continues through mid-August, with Friday and Saturday night games from Fenway Park, Camden Yards, and even Clemson’s Memorial Stadium, where more than 80,000 fans are expected for the season kickoff.
These aren’t your typical baseball stadiums, either. The Bananas will play in NFL and college football venues, bringing their traveling circus of fun to massive new crowds. Every game will be broadcast live, making it easier than ever for fans to jump into the Banana Ball universe.
“Their unique approach embodies two of ESPN’s key goals: reaching new audiences and inspiring the next generation of youth athletes,” said ESPN’s Brent Colborne.

The Disney Connection: Why It Makes Sense
Banana Ball might seem an unexpected fit for Disney+, but it’s perfect. It’s family-friendly, full of character (literally), and offers something different from what most sports fans are used to. Like Disney Parks, it’s all about creating an unforgettable experience.
