This April, The Walt Disney Company is going green in a big way. Disney is partnering with National Geographic to celebrate Earth Month 2025 through its enterprise-wide ourHOME campaign, an initiative designed to protect, restore, and celebrate the natural world through powerful storytelling, global action, and inspiring experiences.
ourHOME Campaign Returns
Back for its second year, ourHOME highlights Disney and National Geographic’s shared legacy of conservation, education, and awe-inspiring content. Throughout April, expect:
- Special programming across Disney platforms
- Global premieres on Disney+
- In-park Earth Month activations
- Disney Conservation Fund’s 30th anniversary
- A social media celebration of our planet
New Disney+ and Nat Geo Premieres
Celebrate Earth Week with exciting nature content:
- “Secrets of the Penguins” premieres April 20 on Nat Geo and streams April 21 on Disney+ and Hulu. Narrated by Blake Lively, this series follows Nat Geo Explorer Bertie Gregory as he captures penguin behaviors in extreme environments.
- “Sea Lions of the Galapagos” debuts April 22 on Disney+, narrated by Brendan Fraser. Follow sea lion pup Leo on an epic journey through the islands.
- “Guardians of the Galapagos” also streams April 22. Narrated by Blair Underwood, this behind-the-scenes feature showcases the people protecting the Galapagos ecosystem.
You can also stream the full ourHOME Collection on Disney+ all month, featuring titles like Secrets of the Octopus, A Real Bug’s Life, Queens, and more.
Earth Month in the Parks and Beyond
Disney Parks and Disney Cruise Line are also getting in on the Earth Month magic:
- Special photo ops and kids menus themed to “Secrets of the Penguins” at select locations in Disneyland and Walt Disney World.
- Danni Washington appears at Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival April 5–6.
- Vote in the Zero Waste Art Challenge at Silly Symphony Swings, featuring cast-made art from recycled materials.
- Disney Cruise Line screens Magic of Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point onboard.
- Shanghai Disney Resort hosts the Celebrate Earth Month Fair April 18–22 with interactive nature booths.
Conservation at the Core
April also marks the start of a yearlong celebration of the Disney Conservation Fund’s 30th anniversary. This month alone, DCF will award over $500,000 in grants to nonprofits working with youth, wildlife, and environmental education. Highlights include:
- Penguin protection via the Global Penguin Society
- Galapagos conservation with Conservation International
- Youth outreach through Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots
Disney VoluntEARS in Action
More than 60 Earth Month projects are happening around the globe thanks to Disney VoluntEARS. Cast and crew members from Los Angeles to Shanghai are rolling up their sleeves to clean up parks, restore habitats, and support local communities.
