Welcome Back to the Grid
After over a decade of waiting, the Grid is powering up once again. Disney has officially dropped the first trailer for Tron: Ares, the third chapter in the Tron saga, which looks electrifying.
Slated for release in theaters and IMAX on October 10, 2025, Tron: Ares, directed by Joachim Rønning, introduces us to a bold new chapter in the digital frontier. This time, the lines between the virtual world and reality blur.
Who Is Ares?
The story follows Ares, a program sent from the digital realm into the real world—marking humanity’s first contact with artificial intelligence in physical form. Jared Leto stars as the title character, bringing to life a new kind of program with a mission that could change both realms forever.
He’s joined by a high-powered cast, including Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Gillian Anderson, and Tron veteran Jeff Bridges, who returns as Kevin Flynn.
A New Sound for a New Era part of Tron Ares Trailer
While Daft Punk’s iconic music helped define Tron: Legacy, the new film features a score by Nine Inch Nails. Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, composing under the band’s name. They bring their intense, layered sound to this evolution of the Grid. The trailer already teases some of that atmospheric energy.
The Tron Ares Trailer We’ve Been Waiting For
The trailer delivers everything fans have been hoping for. Light cycles, data discs, neon-drenched visuals, and a tone that feels more personal, grounded, and epic.
