In a historic announcement on May 7, 2025, The Walt Disney Company and Miral unveiled plans for Disneyland Abu Dhabi, a landmark Disney theme park resort in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. This new destination marks Disney’s seventh theme park resort worldwide, blending Disney’s beloved stories and characters with Abu Dhabi’s vibrant culture and stunning architecture.
A Visionary Collaboration
Located on Yas Island, a world-class entertainment hub, the waterfront resort will connect travelers from the Middle East, Africa, India, Asia, Europe, and beyond. Developed by Miral and creatively led by Walt Disney Imagineering, the park promises to fuse iconic Disney attractions with Abu Dhabi’s rich heritage.
“Abu Dhabi is a place where heritage meets innovation,” said His Excellency Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman at Miral. “The collaboration between Abu Dhabi and Disney demonstrates the remarkable results of visionary leadership and creative excellence.”
Disney’s Most Innovative Park Yet
Robert A. Iger, CEO of The Walt Disney Company, described the project’s ambition: “As our seventh theme park destination, it will rise from this land in spectacular fashion, blending contemporary architecture with cutting-edge technology to offer deeply immersive entertainment experiences.”
Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Experiences, added, “This groundbreaking resort represents a new frontier in theme park development. It will be the most advanced and interactive destination in our portfolio.”
