Disneyland Resort just leveled up your park arrival experience! For the first time, your MagicBand+ can be used to enter both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park—streamlining the process and unlocking more magic from the moment you arrive.
Say Goodbye to Turnstiles
The classic entry turnstiles have been replaced with fully ADA-compliant, sleek, automated gates. These new entryways are wide enough for strollers, wheelchairs, and ECVs, making them more accessible. Guests scan their valid park ticket or tap their MagicBand+, then follow on-screen instructions to take a quick photo. The gates open once the system links your image to your admission, and you’re ready to start your Disney day.+
A First for MagicBand+ at Disneyland
This update marks the first time MagicBand+ can be used for park entry at the Disneyland Resort. Until now, this tech was exclusive to Walt Disney World. Tapping into your day is now as easy as lifting your wrist. MagicBand+ not only provides touch-free access, but also interacts with select park experiences and nighttime spectaculars.
Helpful Features for Returning Guests
After your first visit, there’s no need to retake your photo. The image linked to your MagicBand+ or ticket remains with your account, making re-entry and multi-day park-hopping even smoother. A nearby Cast Member is always available to assist—just in case you need a hand.
Multiple Entry Points
You’ll find these new entry gates in the main Esplanade area between Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. Select hotel guests can also access:
- Disneyland Monorail Entrance (Downtown Disney to Tomorrowland)
- Grand Californian Hotel entrance (direct to Disney California Adventure)
- Pixar Place Hotel entrance (morning-only access near Goofy’s Sky School)
Don’t Forget the Disneyland App
Pairing your MagicBand+ with the Disneyland app is easy and essential. Load your ticket, make park reservations, and link your MagicBand+ for the smoothest experience possible. The app gives real-time updates, wait times, and Lightning Lane access.
Extra Disney Magic at the Gates
Adding a bit of whimsy to the process, animated clips greet guests as they scan in—Mickey Mouse welcomes you to Disneyland Park. In contrast, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit greets guests at Disney California Adventure. It’s a charming touch that brings the magic forward when you arrive.
With new gates, MagicBand+ compatibility, and animated character greetings, Disneyland Resort’s latest update blends technology and tradition, offering a smoother, more enchanting entry than ever before.
