To celebrate the end of the school year, Walt Disney World made a memorable splash in Central Florida—and brought Stitch along for the ride! The alien from Lilo & Stitch surprised teachers at five local schools with Disney park tickets and helped announce a major investment in education across the region.

Stitch Brings Mischief and Magic to Local Classrooms
As classrooms were being packed up for the summer, Stitch dropped by Hamilton Elementary, Deerwood Elementary, College Park Middle, Tavares Middle, and North Lakeland Elementary. These surprise visits weren’t just about fun—each teacher received free Walt Disney World park tickets, spreading a little extra joy before summer break.

One of the most heartwarming stories came from Deerwood Elementary. Teacher Adam Cody, who began his Disney journey as a monorail pilot before becoming a longtime educator in Osceola County, shared his gratitude as he retired this year. “It’s amazing to get the recognition from our district and Disney,” he said. “There really are no words to describe how special it makes us feel.”

$500,000 Donation to Support Florida Education
Walt Disney World also announced a generous $500,000 donation to support education programs throughout Central Florida. The funds will benefit:
- The Foundation for Orange County Public Schools
- The School District of Osceola County
- Lake County Schools Foundation
- Polk County Schools Foundation
- Seminole County Schools Foundation

Additionally, youth-focused organizations like the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. Orlando Philharmonic. ELEVATE Orlando. And A Gift for Teaching will also receive support.
Fred Heid, Superintendent of Polk County Public Schools, said. “We’re thrilled that Disney is making such a considerable donation to our education foundation. It’s exciting to be able to afford new opportunities for our students.”

EPCOT Inspiration with Disney Imagination Campus
The surprises didn’t stop with Stitch. Disney Imagination Campus invited teachers and administrators from each district for an exclusive day of Disney fun at EPCOT. The experience encouraged educators to draw inspiration from the park’s innovative and imaginative spaces—bringing creativity and STEAM-focused ideas back to their classrooms.
