George Lucas Debuts the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art

For the first time, George Lucas appeared in Hall H to unveil the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art. Opening in Los Angeles in 2026, the museum will showcase over 40,000 works of art, spanning comics, fine art, and the Lucasfilm archives. Lucas called it “a temple to the people’s art.” The exhibit will feature props, models, and concept art from the Star Wars franchise. Joining him were Guillermo del Toro and Doug Chiang, with Queen Latifah moderating.

Lucasfilm Animation Turns 20 with Maul: Shadow Lord

Fans at the Lucasfilm Pavilion celebrated 20 years of Lucasfilm Animation. The big reveal was Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord. Sam Witwer returns as Maul with writing by Matt Michnovetz. The four-episode series follows the former Sith Lord during the rise of the Empire. The pavilion also displayed Dave Filoni’s sketches and rare maquettes, offering a look back at two decades of animation.

Ahsoka Season 2 Sneak Peek

Star Wars: Ahsoka fans got their first look at Ezra Bridger’s live-action costume, portrayed by Eman Esfandi. This exclusive reveal sets the stage for an exciting second season, building on the momentum of the first.

Star Wars Publishing News

Lucasfilm Publishing revealed a packed lineup. Highlights include the finale of The High Republic by Charles Soule, plus The Art of The High Republic Volume II. Marvel announced Boba Fett: Black, White & Red, Legacy of Vader, and Han Solo: Hunt for the Falcon. Dark Horse teased Tides of Terror with Kit Fisto. For younger fans, new titles like You’re My Little Grogu join guides such as the Mandalorian Visual Guide and Star Wars Icons: Vader.

SDCC 2025: Highlights from the Lucasfilm Publishing Panel
