ESPN Goes Direct-to-Consumer
Alongside Disney+ content, Disney made a major sports-streaming move in August with the launch of the new ESPN App. This direct-to-consumer service offers the full suite of ESPN networks, featuring live channels, personalized recommendations, and new interactive features.
Available channels include ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, SEC Network, ACC Network, ESPNews, ESPN Deportes, ESPN+, ESPN Radio, Longhorn Network, ESPN3, and more. Fans have asked about ESPN 8: The Ocho — while not part of the permanent lineup, it typically appears as a special, limited-time event.
Wow – That’s a LOT!!!
From the live-action Lilo & Stitch to the eerie thrills of Marvel Zombies and the musical journey of Electric Bloom, Disney+ in September 2025 offers a balance of nostalgia, action, and fresh storytelling. Add in Pixar’s anticipated Elio, National Geographic specials like Top Guns and Cleopatra’s Final Secret, and weekly events like Dancing with the Stars. And with ESPN’s new direct-to-consumer app, Disney is broadening its streaming reach beyond films and series to cover live sports — making this fall a packed season across the Disney streaming family.
