The Hamilton theatrical release 2025 is officially underway. Walt Disney Studios has announced that the filmed version of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Hamilton will debut in theaters on September 5, 2025. Exclusive Prologue: “Reuniting the Revolution”
This version features a new segment titled Reuniting the Revolution, a special prologue with fresh interviews from the original cast and creators. They share personal stories and reflect on how the show changed their lives, as well as the broader impact on theater and culture.
Thomas Kail on the Big-Screen Experience
“We wanted to capture the feeling of being in the Richard Rodgers Theatre during that first year,” said director and producer Thomas Kail. “Now, audiences can experience that on the big screen.”
Filmed in June 2016 during the Broadway run, this version stars the original cast, including Lin-Manuel Miranda, Leslie Odom Jr., Phillipa Soo, and Daveed Diggs. It blends the energy of live performance with cinematic storytelling for a one-of-a-kind experience.
