Bluey’s Big-Screen Debut Gets a Date
Bluey is heading to cinemas, and now we finally know when. BBC Studios and Walt Disney Studios, in collaboration with Ludo Studio, announced that the highly anticipated feature-length film will hit theaters on August 6, 2027.
Creative Team Behind the Film
The Bluey movie is based on the series created by Joe Brumm, who both wrote and directed the film. He is joined by co-director Richard Jeffery (Bluey, Series 1–3) and producer Amber Naismith. Executive producers include Brumm, Justine Flynn for BBC Studios, and Charlie Aspinwall and Daley Pearson for Ludo Studio. On the Disney side, oversight comes from David Greenbaum, president of Disney Live Action and 20th Century Studios.

Returning Voices Fans Love
The film will feature the voices of Melanie Zanetti (Mum/Chilli) and David McCormack (Dad/Bandit), ensuring audiences hear the familiar voices that made the series so special. This will be the family’s big-screen debut, bringing the Emmy® and BAFTA Award-winning series to life in a brand-new way.
Distribution and Support
BBC Studios is financing and licensing the project, with Walt Disney Studios handling theatrical distribution. The film also receives support from the Australian government through the Producer Offset and Screen Australia, along with the Queensland Government via Screen Queensland’s Post, Digital and Visual Effects Incentive.
