Marvel Studios Animation has unleashed “Marvel Zombies on Disney+, a four-episode, TV-MA animated event where heroes become the undead. It’s Marvel like never before — darker, bloodier, and full of surprises.

Heroes Turned Monsters
Freed from TV‑14 limits, Bryan Andrews and Zeb Wells zombified icons like Captain Marvel and Hawkeye. With them gone, unexpected figures like Khonshu and Rintrah step into the spotlight. At the center is Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, who uncovers a clue that could save humanity. But with Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff — now the Red Queen — leading an undead army, the odds are grim.

Kamala Khan in the Spotlight
“When we were developing this, Kamala was relatively new to the MCU,” Andrews said. “She was in a perfect spot… young enough, naïve enough, and still finding her powers. How will she handle this? Will she keep her hope, or lose it all?”

This tension makes Kamala the emotional core of the story, balancing the horror with heart.
New Interactions, New Sparks
From Kamala and Spider‑Man (Hudson Thames) to Blade Knight (Todd Williams) and Namor, Marvel Zombies delivers team‑ups fans never thought they’d see. “The beauty of Marvel is seeing these characters collide,” said Brad Winderbaum. “They’re so different that they make sparks.”
Easy to Jump Into
Though rooted in Marvel lore, the series stands on its own. “You don’t need to know the lore to enjoy it,” Winderbaum explained. “You can come to it blind and still get it.”
