For decades, The Walt Disney Company has delivered joy and comfort to children facing serious illnesses. That mission continues this Halloween season, as Disney once again teams up with the Starlight Children’s Foundation to bring not-so-scary fun to pediatric patients around the world.
A Legacy of Comfort and Joy
Since 2021, Disney’s donations have reached more than 80,000 pediatric patients, according to Starlight. Each year, thousands of costumes, toys, books, and accessories are delivered to children’s hospitals, ensuring that kids who can’t participate in traditional trick-or-treating still get to celebrate the magic of Halloween.
This year, Disney is donating even more — including adaptive costumes inspired by characters like Cinderella, Elsa, and The Incredibles. These costumes feature thoughtful details such as self-stick closures and medical-access openings, designed to help every child join the fun.
“Our collaboration with Starlight Children’s Foundation during the Halloween season is a beautiful reflection of how we work together year-round to bring comfort and joy to children in hospitals,” said Alisa Bowen, President of Disney+ and Starlight board member.
Disney in Children’s Hospitals: A Legacy of Support for Kids and Families
For over 100 years, Disney stories have inspired imagination and hope in children of all ages. Walt Disney himself brought that magic to hospitals, visiting young patients with animators and beloved characters. Today, that same legacy continues through Disney’s commitment to delivering moments of comfort and happiness to children in hospitals worldwide.
As part of a recently fulfilled $100 million commitment, more than 1,500 children’s hospitals and pediatric care facilities in 45 countries have received Disney-themed installations, hospital gowns, toy deliveries, complimentary access to Disney+, and screenings of new releases. These experiences transform care spaces into environments filled with joy and imagination.
