A big change is coming to Disney+ this fall—one that will impact how millions of viewers around the world experience their favorite shows and movies. Starting October 8, 2025, the Hulu brand will officially expand globally as the new General Entertainment hub on Disney+. It will replace Star in international markets.

This move sets the stage for next year’s unified Disney+ app, where subscribers will enjoy an even more seamless experience across Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, ESPN, and now Hulu.
Simpler Navigation and UX Design
The Disney+ homepage is evolving with a new, more intuitive design. A streamlined navigation bar now appears at the top, and the all-new “For You” tab is the default landing page. This section highlights personalized recommendations powered by an updated algorithm that learns your preferences over time.

Subscribers will also notice clearer tabs for Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN (depending on their bundle), making it easier to explore each catalog individually.
The updated Live hub now puts 24/7 streams, live news, sports, and events front and center. New badging tags like Season Finale, New Series, and New Movie make it simple to spot what’s trending and timely.

More Personalized Recommendations
Disney is doubling down on personalization. Profiles are now more prominent across the app. This ensures each member of the household has a tailored content feed. Recommendations will continue to evolve, serving up the most relevant shows and films across all touchpoints.
Mobile and Beyond
The update isn’t limited to TVs—iOS widgets are launching soon. They will offer a one-click path into Disney+ programming directly from your home screen. Disney is also planning mobile-first experiences for 2026. Such experiences will bring exclusive ways to engage with content on the go.
What’s Next
These updates mark just the beginning. More enhancements will roll out in the coming months, leading up to the unified Disney+ app experience next year. With Hulu now a global brand, Disney+ is setting itself up as the go-to destination for both blockbuster franchises and general entertainment.
