Spidey and Iron Man: Avengers Team Up on Disney Junior

Marvel’s Spidey and Iron Man: Avengers Team Up! premieres October 16 on Disney Junior and arrives the next day on Disney+. This all-new animated special brings together some of Marvel’s most beloved heroes for a story that celebrates teamwork, friendship, and doing the right thing—no matter how big or small the mission.

The Power of Teamwork

Executive Producer Harrison Wilcox knows what makes kids connect with these characters. “I have young kids at home, and kids love get-togethers,” he explained. “Anyone who’s ever been to a preschool or a birthday party knows how exciting a day with your friends can be.” That sense of fun drives the special’s tone. As Wilcox puts it, “The title Spidey and His Amazing Friends doesn’t undersell—Spidey really does have some amazing friends!” With the longer runtime, the creative team had room to bring in even more Avengers for kids to see working together on screen.

When Villains Try to Team Up

The story takes an unexpected twist when Iron Man’s Ultron and Spidey’s Green Goblin form their own villainous alliance to take over the city. But teamwork isn’t quite their strength. “Working together takes patience, hard work, understanding, and listening,” said Wilcox. “Those aren’t exactly traits Ultron or [Green] Goblin have in their wheelhouse.” Luckily, the Avengers know what true cooperation looks like—helping one another, sharing the spotlight, and standing up for what’s right.

Marvel Lessons for Young Fans

Both Spidey and His Amazing Friends and Iron Man and His Awesome Friends pull directly from the spirit of classic Marvel storytelling. The creative teams start with comic book ideas centered on “good versus evil” and reshape them for younger audiences. “We use those stories to demonstrate good behavior and show what happens when characters make the wrong choices,” Wilcox explained. The result is a balance of fun and life lessons—helping kids understand that superheroes are ordinary people choosing to do extraordinary things.

Fun for the Whole Family

Wilcox’s goal was simple: create a Marvel story the entire family could enjoy. “I want kids to learn and enjoy the Marvel universe and share that with their siblings, parents, and grandparents,” he said. Before Spidey and His Amazing Friends, Marvel didn’t have much programming for preschoolers. Now, this special continues to expand that universe, giving young fans a way to experience the excitement of Marvel together with the rest of the family.
