Howard says returning to Zootopia was seamless thanks to years of shared ideas. One early sketch from Bush even featured a big “2” shaped like a snake—a hint of where things were headed. Both filmmakers have long wanted to introduce new species beyond mammals, and this sequel finally dives into that idea.
Bush explains that the first film explored predator‑prey relationships in a seemingly perfect city.
