fternoon Tea Returns to Grand Floridian With Alice in WonderlandTea service has been part of the Grand Floridian story almost since the resort opened in 1988. With its Victorian styling and refined atmosphere, afternoon tea quickly became a natural fit, offering guests a classic experience that felt both elegant and timeless.
That tradition evolved in 2004, when Disney introduced My Disney Girl’s Perfectly Princess Tea Party. This marked a shift from traditional afternoon tea to a fully themed, character‑driven experience. Hosted by Disney royalty and designed especially for families, the Princess Tea Party blended storytelling, music, keepsakes, and tea service into one of the resort’s most memorable offerings. Booking required a child aged 3-9 and included a My Disney Girl Princess Doll.
Like many Walt Disney World experiences, the Grand Floridian tea tradition became a victim of the 2020 park and resort closures, leaving a noticeable absence for longtime fans who had made tea time part of their Disney vacations.
Now, that tradition is ready to return—reimagined through the curious and whimsical lens of Wonderland.
Alice in Wonderland Arrives at the Garden View Lounge
Beginning March 19, 2026 the Garden View Lounge – Tea Experience will welcome guests once again, this time inspired by Alice in Wonderland. Reservations open February 19, and the experience blends classic afternoon tea with whimsical details pulled straight from Wonderland.
While the setting remains refined and elegant, playful surprises are layered throughout the experience. Guests of all ages will find options designed just for them, making this a tea party the whole family can enjoy together.
A Tea Experience That Starts With the Perfect Sip
At the heart of the experience is tea itself. Disney’s culinary team partnered with Twinings to curate a thoughtful selection of loose-leaf blends. Guests can choose from familiar favorites as well as more adventurous flavors, including a Walt Disney World–exclusive black tea with bright citrus notes.
Each guest is guided through the selection process by trained Cast Members, who act as personal tea guides. From there, teas are customized with aromatic enhancements added during steeping, along with optional sweeteners.
In addition, the menu includes:
- Signature tea-inspired cocktails for adults
- Non-alcoholic specialty teas with playful presentation
- Champagne and sparkling wine selections
Savory Bites and Sweet Wonderland Treats
The culinary journey begins with a freshly baked scone served with traditional accompaniments. From there, a three-tier presentation delivers a mix of savory and sweet creations inspired by Wonderland characters and themes.
Savory selections feature inventive twists on classic tea sandwiches, while desserts lean into bold flavors, playful designs, and theatrical touches—including one item finished tableside.
Plant-based offerings are also available, ensuring the experience remains inclusive without sacrificing creativity. For those looking to elevate the occasion, optional enhancements include a seasonal cheese course. Or a premium caviar service with traditional accompaniments.
A Tea Party Designed for Little Ones
Younger guests are invited into the fun with a Children’s Afternoon Tea crafted just for them. The menu includes approachable savory bites and imaginative desserts inspired by Wonderland favorites. All designed to feel special without overwhelming smaller appetites.
A New Chapter for a Classic Disney Experience
The arrival of Alice in Wonderland at the Grand Floridian doesn’t replace the resort’s tea legacy—it builds on it. From princesses to Wonderland, tea at the Grand Floridian has always been about storytelling, atmosphere, and shared moments.
With reservations opening February 19, 2026, and the first guests stepping into Wonderland on March 19, this tea party tradition is ready to surprise once again.
