Off the Page Brings the Studio to Life
Disney has revealed new details about “Off the Page!” — one of the most immersive components inside Magic of Disney Animation opening in late summer 2026 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
This is not a traditional character meet and greet. Instead, Off the Page places guests inside the animation process itself.
Meet Characters Inside the Animation Departments
Each space represents a different department found inside Walt Disney Animation Studios.
In the Story department, Mulan appears in front of oversized storyboard panels. In Layout, Rapunzel greets guests surrounded by layered backgrounds inspired by the multiplane camera.
Donald and Daisy represent CG animation. Goofy appears in Lighting. Stitch takes over Effects.
Because each setting reflects a stage of the creative process, guests experience more than a photo opportunity. They step inside the craft of animation.
A Walk-Through Experience With Depth
Off the Page is designed as a walk-through environment rather than a single queue.
As guests move through the departments, the artistry behind each Disney film becomes part of the backdrop. Therefore, the experience blends education with character interaction.
The environments are built with layered detail. Storyboards, painted cells, lighting references, and animation tools surround each space.

Hollywood Studios has no shortage of character encounters. However, Off the Page offers something different. It celebrates how Disney stories are created, not just the final result.

While Olaf Draws delivers repeatable drawing classes, Off the Page delivers atmosphere. It connects guests to the artistry behind beloved films.
If executed well, this could become one of the most photographed and revisited areas inside Animation Courtyard.
