Olaf Draws Reimagines Animation Academy
Disney has revealed new details about “Olaf Draws!” — the updated Animation Academy experience coming as part of Magic of Disney Animation in late summer 2026.
This is not simply a refreshed drawing class. Instead, Olaf Draws introduces a new Audio-Animatronics Olaf as the cheerful host of the experience.
A New Audio-Animatronics Olaf
For the first time, Olaf will appear in Audio-Animatronics form inside the attraction. The figure is inspired by his scene in Once Upon a Studio, where he sits at an animator’s desk discovering the art of drawing.
Josh Gad recorded original dialogue for the experience. Therefore, guests will hear Olaf’s familiar voice guiding them into the class.
The setting resembles a working animator’s studio, complete with playful Frozen-inspired details.
Step-by-Step Drawing with Disney Artists
While Olaf sets the tone, real Disney animators lead the lesson.
Each session walks guests through drawing a Disney character step by step. Because characters rotate, the experience encourages repeat visits.
You may sketch Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Genie, Moana, Stitch, Ursula, or Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde. Additional characters may rotate throughout the year.
As a result, the class feels both educational and personal.
Why Olaf Matters Here
Olaf represents warmth, curiosity, and optimism. More importantly, he bridges classic hand-drawn tradition with modern animation.
Olaf Draws strengthens the connection between Hollywood Studios and the filmmaking process behind Disney animation.
