Disney+ is giving Bluey fans two more reasons to hit play this spring. First, Bluey’s Big Play – The Stage Show premieres on Monday, March 16, 2026. Then, on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, Disney+ adds a collection of Bluey Minisodes, giving subscribers another easy way to watch more Bluey short-form content. Together, the additions keep the momentum going for one of the biggest family brands on streaming.
That matters because Bluey was the No. 1 most-streamed program in the U.S. in 2025 for the second straight year. So while fans wait for the Bluey movie and more Disney experiences, Disney+ is filling the gap with new ways to spend time in that world.
Bluey’s Big Play Arrives March 16
The biggest addition this month is Bluey’s Big Play – The Stage Show, a televised version of the live theatrical production that has already become a hit with families. The special brings Bluey, Bingo, Bandit, and Chilli to life through large-scale puppetry and live performance, while keeping the tone and humor that made the series so popular.
This version is also tied closely to the creative team behind the show. It features an original story by Bluey creator Joe Brumm and music composed by Joff Bush. For Disney+ subscribers, that makes this feel like more than just a filmed stage event. Instead, it looks like a meaningful extension of the Bluey brand for families who may not have seen the touring production in person.
Bluey Minisodes Hit Disney+ on May 20
Disney+ is also adding a collection of 10 Bluey Minisodes on May 20, 2026. These short episodes run about one to three minutes each and focus on quick, funny, and often sweet moments with Bluey and Bingo.
The collection includes:
- Humpty Dumpty
- Green Bottles
- Flying Saucer
- Tea Party
- Pea Pod Sausages
- Old Macdonald
- Honk
- Lollipop Song
- Cinderella
- Make Mum Laugh
For longtime fans, the minisodes are not brand-new productions. However, their arrival on Disney+ makes them easier to discover and stream alongside the main series. That should be a welcome update for families who use Disney+ as the main home base for Bluey.
Bluey Is Getting Bigger Across Disney
The Disney+ additions are only one part of a much larger Bluey rollout.
Disney and BBC Studios have already confirmed the feature-length Bluey movie will open in theaters on August 6, 2027. At the same time, Bluey is becoming more visible across Disney Experiences.
At Disneyland Park, Bluey’s Best Day Ever! begins March 22, 2026 at the reimagined Fantasyland Theatre. Over at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Bluey and Bingo arrive at Conservation Station beginning May 26, 2026, where families can play games, dance, and explore Australia-themed animal activities. Bluey and Bingo have also joined select Disney Cruise Line sailings in 2026.
Taken together, this is starting to look less like a one-off character promotion and more like a long-term Disney strategy around Bluey.
Why This Matters for Families
Bluey already works as comfort viewing, repeat viewing, and family co-viewing. That is rare. The show connects with kids, but it also speaks to parents in a way few preschool series do.
Because of that, adding the stage show and minisodes to Disney+ feels smart. The stage special gives families something event-like to watch now, while the minisodes add quick, easy content that fits the way many households actually watch Bluey. It also keeps the franchise active on Disney+ while Disney builds toward bigger experiences in parks, on cruise ships, and eventually in theaters.
Sam’s Disney Diary Take
This is a strong move for Disney+.
The stage show gives Bluey fans something new right away, and the minisodes help deepen the library without asking families to wait until 2027 for the next major milestone. More importantly, it shows how Disney is treating Bluey as more than a streaming success. It is becoming a full Disney family franchise across Disney+, the parks, cruise line, and the big screen.
For Disney fans with young kids, that makes Bluey one of the most interesting brands to watch over the next year.
