D23 just gave fans a much clearer picture of what August will look like in Anaheim, and this is shaping up to be far more than a three-day convention. Yes, the main event still runs August 14 through 16, 2026, but Disney is now positioning D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event as a full week of fan activity with city-wide events, bigger programming, extended show floor hours, and new experiences built to pull in everyone from parks fans to Disney Channel nostalgia fans.
That is the real takeaway from this latest update. D23 2026 is not just about getting into a panel and hoping for a big announcement. Disney is building a full fan destination week around Anaheim, and the details now make that much easier to see.
D23 2026 dates, locations, and headline events
D23 2026 is not being presented as a convention hall experience. Disney says the event will feature its largest and most innovative D23 show floor ever, more than 50 panels and presentations, three nightly marquee presentations at Honda Center, and week-long celebrations around Anaheim. That wider footprint makes D23 2026 feel more like an Anaheim takeover than a standard fan convention.
The main event runs August 14 through 16, 2026. The Anaheim Convention Center will host the daytime fan experience with panels, exhibits, shopping, and immersive activations. The Honda Center will once again host the three major nightly presentations.
Friday, August 14 brings the Disney Entertainment Showcase. Saturday, August 15 features the Disney Experiences Showcase. Sunday, August 16 closes with the Disney Legends Award Ceremony.
That structure is familiar, but Disney is clearly pushing the 2026 version to feel larger. The company is leaning into extended hours, more panel programming, bigger show floor experiences, and more reasons for fans to arrive before Friday.
The ticket detail fans need to know now
The biggest point is simple. D23 Gold Membership is required to purchase tickets. Disney says all D23 Gold Members, including those on the complimentary Gold Member plan through Disney+ Perks and members on Gold Essential, Choice, and Complete plans, may purchase event tickets while supplies last. Disney also says Disney+ subscribers on the D23 Gold Monthly plan can upgrade to a paid Gold Essential, Choice, or Complete plan at 20% off for a limited time.
Ticket buying will roll out in tiers.

D23 2026 ticket prices and pass types
This latest release also helps clarify the ticket structure.

This Anaheim Convention Center-only option starts at $49 for the new Afternoon Only ticket, $99 for a one-day pass, and $297 for a three-day pass.
D23 Ultimate Fan Pass
This pass includes both Anaheim Convention Center access and Honda Center showcases. Pricing begins at $99 for a one-day package and $297 for a three-day package.
D23 Ultimate Preferred Fan Pass
This premium option includes three days of floor seating at Honda Center, three days of Anaheim Convention Center access, and special Random Selection Process opportunities for select limited-edition pins. Pricing ranges from $1,299 to $2,599 depending on seat location.
Each ticket is subject to an $11.25 service fee, and each transaction has a $16 delivery fee. Disney also says a limited-time waitlist will open after ticket sales close for Gold Members who are unable to purchase tickets.
New experiences that make this feel bigger
This is where the update gets especially interesting. Disney says the 2026 event will feature all-new experiences including Mundo Pixar: The D23 Experience, a special preview of the immersive walk-through exhibition with life-size Pixar sets. There will also be ESPN and the Road to the Super Bowl, highlighting the intersection of sports and entertainment.
For Disney fans watching what might drive clicks and conversation, a few names stand out immediately. Disney says the show floor will include activations inspired by Bluey, Camp Rock 3, and The Simpsons, plus a standout Mickey F1 display with a Formula 1 car. At this point, though, Disney has not shared exact details on what the Bluey-inspired activation will include, so that is one to watch as more information is announced.
That mix says a lot about the direction of D23 2026. It is not only leaning on the classic Disney pillars. It is pulling from the full Disney portfolio in a way that feels broader, more current, and more tuned to fan communities that cross streaming, sports, franchises, and nostalgia.
The Disney details fans may care about most
A few additions in the press release make the event feel especially strong for Disney fans who follow more than just the main showcases.
Ravensburger will host a Disney Lorcana Challenge Championship Qualifier at the event, with the winner earning a guaranteed seat at the 2027 Disney Lorcana North American Championship. That is a smart way to bring competitive Disney fandom into the heart of the weekend.
Disney also revealed Walt Disney Archives: Uncrated, a new exhibition on the show floor that promises a look into the hidden warehouse spaces of the Walt Disney Archives. Disney says it will feature props, costumes, and puppets from films, television, and theme parks across generations of company history.
There is also another fan draw built into the event. The Ultimate Disney Sweepstakes: Fantastic Prizes returns, with Disney teasing prizes that include being among the first to sail during the inaugural season of the Disney Believe and a chance to attend the red-carpet premiere of Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday.
Disneyland day and family-friendly events add more range
For parks fans, Thursday, August 13 may be one of the most interesting dates of the entire week. D23 Day at Disneyland Resort officially kicks off the weekend with a Disney Legends Cavalcade, complimentary Mickey Mouse ear hats while supplies last, magical surprises, and more. Disney also confirmed that Disney Jr. Let’s Play! Party will return for a one-day special event at Disney California Adventure, with live entertainment, Disney Jr. characters, activities, and photo opportunities for younger families.
That is a meaningful addition because it gives D23 2026 a much stronger family and parks layer before the convention even begins.
D23 week is becoming an Anaheim-wide celebration
The city-wide details now make the week feel more complete.
The event week begins August 8 with the Walt Disney Archives exhibition Capturing Life, Creating Character: The Art of Live-Action at Muzeo Museum and Cultural Center. Tickets for that exhibition go on sale March 27.
On August 11, D23 Night at the Anaheim Packing District returns with music, trivia, fan activities, and the sixth annual World Taste of the Packing District.
On August 12, D23 Night at Angel Stadium brings fans together as the Angels face the Texas Rangers. The first 23,000 guests entering the stadium will receive a themed D23 Mickey Mouse bobblehead, with 2,300 gold variants mixed in. D23 Members can also access discounted tickets, special event spaces, and a commemorative event gift.
Throughout the week, Disney says Downtown Disney will feature special offers, discounts, and themed fun, adding even more reason for fans to make this a multi-day Anaheim trip.
Sam’s Disney Diary Take
This is the first D23 2026 update that really makes the event feel huge.
The ticket information matters, but the bigger story is what Disney is building around it. Disney Lorcana, a new Walt Disney Archives exhibition, Disneyland day, Disney Jr. events, Angel Stadium, Anaheim Packing District, show-floor activations inspired by Bluey, Camp Rock 3, and The Simpsons, and a larger show floor all point to a fan event that wants to be broader than the traditional D23 formula.
That should be good news for fans. Not everyone goes to D23 for the same reason. Some want parks news, some want movie reveals, some care most about Disney history. Others want shopping, costumes, characters, or just the community feel of being around thousands of Disney fans in one place.
Right now, D23 2026 looks like it is trying to be all of that at once.
And for Sam’s Disney Diary readers, that may be the biggest headline of all. This is not just a weekend convention anymore. It is shaping up to be a full Disney fan week in Anaheim.
