ZOMBIES 5 Greenlit for Disney+ and Disney Channel

The next chapter of Seabrook is officially on the way. ZOMBIES 5 greenlit news confirms the franchise will return to both Disney+ and Disney Channel.  Production begins this spring in New Zealand. Although the official title has not been announced, major changes are already confirmed.

The story follows the events of “ZOMBIES 4: Dawn of the Vampires.” Peace between Daywalkers and Vampires finally seemed secure. However, that balance will not last.

Mermaids Arrive in Seabrook

A fierce group of mermaids arrives in Rayburn. They bring a powerful siren song and a bold new agenda.  As a result, Nova and Victor must unite their friends once again. They need to uncover what the mermaids truly want. Otherwise, the fragile harmony they built could fall apart.  This new mythology expands the world. At the same time, the story stays rooted in unity and acceptance.

Returning Cast and New Faces

Malachi Barton and Freya Skye return as Victor and Nova. In addition, Trevor Tordjman reprises his role as Bucky.

In ZOMBIES 4: Dawn of the Vampires, tensions flare when Zed, played by Milo Manheim, and Addison, played by Meg Donnelly, find themselves acting as camp counselors between two opposing supernatural factions.

The returning cast also includes Swayam Bhatia as Vera, Julian Lerner as Ray, and Mekonnen Knife as Vargas.

Three new mermaids join the franchise. Diaana Babnicova plays Pearl. Taylor Oliver plays Fin. Olive Mortimer plays Sandy.

A Milestone Year for Disney Channel

The franchise continues to deliver strong results. The first three films ranked No. 1 among Kids 6–11 and Tweens 9–14 in their premiere years.

The Daywalker Nova, played by Freya Skye, and the Vampire Victor, played by Malachi Barton, face each other in a scene from ZOMBIES 4: Dawn of the Vampires.

More recently, “ZOMBIES 4” debuted with 9.3 million views globally in its first nine days. It reached 43 million views in under six months.

Notably, the ZOMBIES 5 greenlit announcement comes during a milestone year. In 2026, Disney Channel celebrates anniversaries for “High School Musical” and “Hannah Montana.” In addition, “Descendants: Wicked Wonderland” and “Camp Rock 3” are on the way.

The “Descendants/ZOMBIES Worlds Collide Tour” also returns this year. Therefore, franchise momentum continues to build.

Why ZOMBIES 5 Matters

Each installment pushes the world further. First came zombies. Then werewolves and vampires. Now mermaids enter the mix.

Therefore, ZOMBIES 5 greenlit is more than a sequel. It signals continued investment in music-driven storytelling for a new generation.

The bigger question remains simple. How will Nova and Victor lead as the world keeps expanding?
