Making Spirits Bright: Disney and Toys for Tots
The Walt Disney Company has officially launched the 2023 Disney Ultimate Toy Drive to support the Marine Toys for Tots Program, continuing a legacy of generosity that spans over 75 years.
The campaign began on Good Morning America with an emotional segment featuring Taylor Price, a former recipient of Toys for Tots donations and now a local coordinator for the program in Texas. Disney surprised Price live on-air with a donation of toys from shopDisney and tickets for her family to see Aladdin on Broadway.
A Legacy of Giving
The relationship between Disney and Toys for Tots dates back to 1947 when Walt Disney and his animators designed the program’s iconic train logo. Since then, Disney has remained a steadfast supporter, with millions of toys distributed thanks to this collaboration. In 2022 alone, Toys for Tots distributed more than 24 million toys to nearly 10 million children.
“For over 75 years, Disney has been proud to work with Toys for Tots to help deliver joy to children in need,” said Lisa Haines, Senior Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility at The Walt Disney Company. “Cast members and employees across Disney love supporting Toys for Tots in unique and heartfelt ways.”
