Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway debuted in the reimagined Mickey’s Toontown at Disneyland Park as part of the Disney100 anniversary celebration. – marking the first time Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse star in a ride-through attraction at the Disneyland Resort.

While the attraction may duplicate Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios, the setting, the backstory, and the queue are 100% Disneyland Original and a Must see. Guest begin their adventure inside the El CapiTOON for the premiere of a new “Mickey Mouse” cartoon short, “Perfect Picnic.”

The queue inside the El CapiTOON Theater features a special exhibit created by the Toontown Hysterical Society called “Mickey Through the Ears,” which celebrates the career of Mickey Mouse. The queue is loaded with hidden mickeys and details that will make waiting in the line enjoyable. Exclusive movie posters you can only see inside the theater, Mickey’s first feature film role, the sorcerer’s Apprentice in Fantasia.

Be sure to look for the original costume and the magic sorcerer hat, and look for a haunted dresser, the lonesome ghost produced in 1937, and a bit of Disney magic. From the 1980s, you’ll find Mickey Mouse Disco and mousercise, the original costumes on display, complete with a sound system only goofy could install.

From the Mickey Mouse Club House, a giant mousekatool, look for the props from the current Mickey Mouse shorts, Potatoland, among others, and of course, the concession, with cany designed for the theater, covering more characters than you can find.

Popcorn in the Theater’s concession stand is shaped like Mickey, Minnie, and Donald. The candy includes nods to favorite cartoons ranging from the Silly Symphony’s “The Grasshopper and the Ants” to cult classic “A Goofy Movie.”

Sharp-eyed guests may notice that posters in the El CapiTOON Theater’s foyer include cameos by rarely seen Disney characters, including Mortimer Mouse, Donald Duck’s costars in “DuckTales,” Minnie Mouse’s nieces, Mickey Mouse’s nephews and Max Goof’s classmates in “A Goofy Movie.”
