Christmas in July, Disney Style
It’s the most magical time of the year—sort of. Halfway to the Holidays 2022 gave Disney fans a cheerful preview of what’s to come during this year’s holiday season at Walt Disney World and Disneyland. While the decorations and snowfall haven’t arrived just yet, Disney kept the festive spirit alive with early announcements, new merchandise, themed snacks, and even a few surprises.
Holiday Food and Treats Make a Limited Return
As part of the celebration, Disney brought back limited-time holiday treats at select locations across the parks. Guests could enjoy favorites like holiday cinnamon rolls, Christmas tree mousse domes, peppermint bark churros, and special red and green holiday slushies—all dressed up for a brief summertime appearance.
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Returns
One of the biggest announcements was the return of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom. After a two-year hiatus, this fan-favorite after-hours event promised festive fireworks, the “Once Upon a Christmastime Parade,” and snowfall on Main Street U.S.A. Advanced tickets were announced to go on sale in July 2022, with party nights scheduled to begin in November.
New Holiday Merchandise Revealed
Disney also previewed a sleigh full of new holiday merchandise, including themed Spirit Jerseys, Minnie ear headbands, and Christmas décor featuring characters like Mickey, Minnie, Stitch, and Grogu. Much of the new merchandise was teased online with availability expected across parks and on shopDisney during the fall season.
Festive Fun at Disney Parks
Across Disney Parks, the Halfway to the Holidays celebration included festive overlays on attractions, music in select areas, and special character meet-and-greets. Online, Disney shared behind-the-scenes looks at holiday décor, culinary creations, and even a peek at upcoming holiday overlays for Disneyland attractions.
