On October 16, 2023, Walt Disney World officially debutedJourney of Water, Inspired by Moana at Epcot, coinciding with The Walt Disney Company’s 100th anniversary. This lush, interactive experience marks the first Disney Parks attraction themed to the beloved Walt Disney Animation Studios film Moana.
An Immersive, Interactive Experience
Located in World Nature, this beautifully landscaped walking trail invites guests of all ages to connect with the story of water through magical interactions—just like Moana did with the ocean. Whether waving to streams, making music with rain harps, or helping form a roaring wave, guests experience water’s journey from sky to sea.

A standout moment includes meeting Te Fiti, featured along the trail as she watches over water’s flow through the natural cycle. Fans will also delight in discovering Moana-inspired character carvings hidden in rock formations.

Meet Moana in World Nature
Across from the attraction, guests can now meet Moana herself in a specially themed area. This new character experience allows fans to share photos, hugs, and stories about their journey through the attraction, bringing the Wayfinder’s message full circle.

A Milestone in Epcot’s Transformation
Journey of Water joins other recent additions such as Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, and Connections Café & Eatery as part of Epcot’s multi-year transformation. Coming soon are World Celebration Gardens and a new Walt Disney statue, “Walt the Dreamer,” offering lush space and reflection areas.
