New adventures are taking shape at Disneyland Resort as Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel transforms into the fully Pixar-themed Pixar Place Hotel! Today, we’re taking you behind the scenes with concept art and exciting details of what’s in store as the hotel evolves into a vibrant tribute to Pixar Animation Studios.
Pixar-Inspired Design Arriving This Winter
The 15-story high-rise hotel already boasts a colorful new exterior, with more Pixar touches popping up weekly. When complete this winter, Pixar Place Hotel will be the only fully Pixar-themed hotel in the U.S. From the moment you enter the reimagined lobby, you’ll be welcomed by the iconic Pixar Lamp balancing on its ball and a character mobile that floats overhead in a bright, imaginative atrium.
New Water Play Inspired by Finding Nemo
Later this summer, hotel guests can dive into an all-new splash zone inspired by Finding Nemo! Crush the sea turtle sits atop a massive 186-foot waterslide, while Hank watches over a fun pop-jet splash pad. It’s the perfect way to cool off and enjoy time with family.
Short Films, Poolside Views & Cozy Firepits
Later this year, a new family play court themed to Pixar short films will debut. Guests can play among scenes inspired by La Luna, Bao, Burrow, and For the Birds, then relax under umbrellas straight out of The Blue Umbrella. By night, the pool deck offers stellar views of Disneyland fireworks and cozy firepits themed to beloved Pixar characters.
Great Maple Restaurant Coming This Fall
This fall, guests will savor creative cuisine at Great Maple, a Southern California-based modern American eatery opening on the ground floor. Open all day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, this stylish restaurant will serve upscale comfort food, including:
- Buttermilk Fried Chicken & Maple Bacon Doughnuts
- Cajun Shrimp & Cheddar Biscuit Benedict
- Soda Pop-Braised Baby Back Ribs
Plus, Great Maple will serve poolside bites, open a coffee shop near the lobby, and eventually operate a concierge lounge.

Even during renovations, overnight guests with valid park admission can enjoy early entry to select attractions and a dedicated Disney California Adventure park entrance. The hotel’s prime location also puts you steps away from Downtown Disney and Disneyland Park.
