The Story Behind “El Nido”

Katerina and Juan combined their creative talents and last names to form TRATOS, meaning “forming a bond” in Spanish. This mural reflects their deep connection as a family and as artists. “We want people to feel the happiness and joy that Luka brings into our life,” Katerina shared, describing how their son inspired the bright colors and uplifting imagery.

The mural depicts birds and flowers surrounding Luka, symbolizing family and loved ones supporting him. According to Juan, this representation creates a warm, heartfelt narrative about love and community.
